Robert Levinson Pictures Released To The Public

January 10, 2013 – Robert Levinson, a retired FBI agent, has been missing overseas since 2007. After Robert retired, he became a Private Investigator, which eventually lead him to Iran over an investigation involving cigarette smuggling. The Iranian government has repeatedly denied any knowledge about the disappearance of Mr. Levinson, who was last seen on the Iranian island of Kish.

Despite repeated denial of involvement from the Iranian government, some US officials say that the Iran intelligence service was almost certainly behind the 54-second video and five photographs of Levinson that were sent to Levinson’s family years ago. Official’s suspicions come from details found in the video, including the criticism portrayed about Guantanamo Bay as Mr. Levinson is forced to dress like a Guantanamo Bay Inmate and held up signs such as “I am here in Guantanamo.” President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has openly criticized the U.S. over its detention facility at Guantanamo bay and combined with the expert efforts to conceal the identity of the hostage takers, suggests the group is a highly trained intelligence service such as the Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security.

Although U.S. diplomats and the FBI have tried to bring Robert home, there has been little actually said and done about the situation and almost no public pressure has been applied to the Iranian government for more information. Evidence has also been brought up that search raids conducted by Iran’s government were most likely fabricated and no search for Levinson was ever conducted. U.S. officials determined that this act was most likely a ploy by Iranian counterintelligence to learn how U.S. intelligence agencies work.

Levinson’s wife was interviewed saying “There needs to be a lot more public outcry.” It’s been nearly six years now since Levinson went missing and she feels that Iran is being left off the hook. “He’s a good man,” she said. “He just doesn’t deserve this.”

Levinson’s Family has now released the photos sent to their family with the anonymous video years ago, in hopes it will stir up some additional efforts from our government to bring Robert Levinson home.
