PASADENA, Calif. (KABC) — The Tournament of Roses has crowned the 2016 Rose Queen.

Erika Winter was named the 98th Rose Queen by the Tournament of Roses on Thursday. The 17-year-old girl and her six princesses will ride in the 127th Rose Parade on New Year’s Day.

Erika, a senior at Flintridge Preparatory School in La Canada Flintridge, was selected from more than 900 contestants in the Pasadena area.
